- A couple of weeks ago you were hiding your milk and your toys in a pot in the cupboard. (look for picture to post)
- Last night the 3 of us were hanging out in your room and you started pulling your socks out of the drawer and putting them in one of your toy baskets. Once it was full you dumped all the socks onto the floor. Then, dad asked you to put them away and you picked them up and one by one put them back in the drawer.
- You can now say: "shoes", "clock", "socks"
- You can point to your nose and teeth and high to the sky.
- You give kisses by turning you head and putting your cheek against my face, letting me give you a kiss.
9/3/2009
- Your first airplane ride: trip to Denver for Ben and Heather's wedding. We were on the same plane with Jeff, Kristi, Toby and Mile. You stayed awake the whole flight. You played with the air conditioner vent, and you flirted with the baby girl that was sitting in front of us.
- When we got to the car rental place we were standing by the car and I was holding you and all of a sudden my foot was getting wet. Somehow, you peed on me!
- You slept in the hotel all nights while we were there.
- We went swimming. Friday you seemed really clingy and didn't want to let go of me at all, but when we went on Saturday with dad you seemed much more comfortable.
9/20/2009
- You said "happy", your first 2 syllable word
9/26/2009
- We went to Bear Lake on an ee retreat. We took you down to the lake but we thought we were going to be hanging out on the beach. I thought it would be too cold to even touch the water, but the water was shallow and it was late enough in the day that it was warm enough to walk in. You walked in the water and aplashed and fell and played in the sand. You really enjoyed it!
9/27/2009
- While at Bear Lake we drove up Bloomington Canyon and hiked to a glacier lake. Unfortunately, since we didn't have a backpack or baby carrier Dad had to carry you the whole time. But you did really well and it was good exercise for dad.

- You are walking all over the place
- You haven't had a bottle in about 2-3 weeks.
- Your favorite word is "hat". You are fascinated by hats and the hats that dad has hanging in his closet, and you point to your head.
- Grandma Stephie taught you "cookie", so you can say that too and you know where they are.

July 2009
7/10/2009
- You've started to point at things.
- You like to pull all of the clothes out of your pajama drawer.
- You like to play with the diaper pail, yuck!
- You'll take steps here and there with a little help.
7/19/2009
Today you opened the gate at the bottom of the stairs (which wasn't locked) and walked/crawled/climbed up the stairs by yourself.

CJ-
You made both me and your dad laugh until we cried tonight. You spent the day at Grandma Steph's since your dad and I had a very long and intense Engaged Encounter meeting today. It was past your bed time when you got home, but you seemed full of energy. We took you upstairs and got you ready for bed and you walked back and forth between me and dad. I think this was the first day that you took more than one or two steps, you actually seemed in control. Then you decided to pull your shorts out of your drawer like you sometimes do. You would pull a pair out and throw them on the floor and dad would throw them back in. But then I think that you thought it was a game because when you'd pull a pair out you'd wait for dad to throw them back in and then you'd laugh hysterically. This went on for quite a while. We were all laughing. We just can't imagine what our life was like without you. You bring so much laughter and true joy to our life. We love you more than anything!

Happy 1st Birthday!
7/7/09
Christopher-
Happy Birthday! Today is your first birthday. I can't believe it's been a year since you were born. You have really grown into your own little person with your own personality. You aren't walking on your own yet, but you zoom around the house, walking and pushing your alphabet train. You are so happy and I'd like to think that it is mostly due to the fact that I stay home with you, but something tells me that I'm really the lucky one here. I am so blessed to be able to stay home with you and watch you grow and play with you. You make me smile so much. You know, I have been outside more in the past few months than I have in the past 10 years because I want to do everything I can to make you happy and it turns out to make me happier too. We have to both thank Dad for being so supportive. I think we're a happier family unit as a whole. I love you so much and I'm so proud to be your mom!

First Trip to Clear Creek
6/5-6/6 2009
You cried most of the way down. You seemed to calm down a little bit when we put on your nursery rhyme cd. We got their at about 8:30pm and we finally tried to put you to bed around 10:30p. You actually went down well, but still woke up in the middle of the night and had to get in bed with us. You took a nap on Saturday and in the afternoon we took you on a four-wheeler ride. Dad drove and I sat behind him with you in the middle. You seemed a little antsy until we got the wheeler started up, once it was started you were out and slept pretty much the entire ride. You also slept the entire way home.
6/10/09
You have been spitting up a lot and you've also been slapping yourself in the face when you're tired and/or mad.
6/17/09
My mom and I took you to the park on Monday and put you in the infant swing. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera, but you were really cute and seemed to like it. We also watched a bunch of other kids play in the water, you had a good time.
6/29/09
I just went to get you up from your nap and you were standing in you crib as usual, but you had no pants on! Somehow, either during your nap or between waking up and me coming to get you, you managed to get them off.

5/21/09
You have been clapping and waving bye-bye for a few weeks. You also have been pulling yourself up to standing. Just starting to cruise a little, taking a couple steps.
We've been giving you a little bit of grown up food, but not much.
Wyoming Trip
5/23/09
We headed out for our Wyoming trip, got a later start than we expected. We had so much stuff, mostly yours, of course. The car was full.
We had to change a poopy diaper on the way. We ended up chaning your diaper outside on the grass at an LDS church.
We got to Alpine around 4p, it was really windy. Jill and Jerred came and brought Walter. We got some cute pictures of the 2 of you together. Jill and Jerred announced that they are having another baby in November.
You played on the floor and ripped apart some magazines. You did not sleep well in your pack n play.
5/25/09
Headed to Riverton to see Grandpa Curly and Grandma Helga. You did ok in the car but started screaming when we were going over the pass. I think your ears were hurting and we were not prepared so we didn't have anything for you to suck on so your ears would pop. I ended up sticking my finger in the nipple of a bottle and letting you suck on that for a few minutes, It helped a little, but then I think you just got mad that nothing was coming out. We finally made it to a gas station and got you a bottle and you did much better after that.
We got to Curly and Helga's around 4p. You played on the floor a lot there. Helga gave you a stainless steel bowl and some wooden spoons and spatulas, you seemed to have fun with those. Bindi, their dog, licked you a lot. You played with the dog kennel and JC Penney catalog a lot.
Again, you really didn't want to sleep in your pack n play and ended up sleeping in bed with us.
5/27/09
We were headed home this day. We changed a poopy diaper before we left so I thought we were clear until we got home. We didn't get very far when I could tell that you were pooping. I wanted to stop somewhere that had a "family restroom" in case I needed help. But, we ended up stopping at McDonald's. When we took you out of the car and got you inside I could tell that you needed a change of clothes. Frank was going to use the restroom and then go out and grab some clothes for you. I went in to change your diaper and thought I'd come back out for the clothes. I went into the handicap stall and put you on the changing table, but when I started to pull down your pants I could tell that this was going to be a 2 man job. But when I went to leave, I was locked in the stall. This was a nice bathroom with sold wood doors, door knobs and door jambs. I kept turning the knob and the lock but couldn't get out. I asked if anyone else was in the restroom but no one was there. I was trying to figure out if I could crawl under the door with you, but I just couldn't figure out how that would work. I was probably only in there for 10-15 minutes, but it felt like forever. I tried pounding on the door and kicking it, but to no avail. Finally, I was playing with the door knob again and it popped open. I ran out of there so fast. Frank was waiting for me. As soon as we got outside I burst into tears. Then I was laughing at myself for crying. I insisted we find someplace else, I was not going back into that restroom. We found a visitor center down the street. Unfortunately, they didn't have a family restroom either and they didn't even have a changing table in either of the restrooms. But, since nobody was there, we all went into the women's room and just changed you on a mat on the floor. You were screaming and I was worried that the employees there were going to think that we kidnapped you. After that it was pretty smooth sailing the rest of the way home.
While we were there, Helga took me to Walmart to shop and ended up buying you a bunch of books and toys. Then she took me to the Wind River Casino for a little fun.
Your top tooth started coming in. You were grinding your teeth and I was trying to figure out what was crunching in your mouth.
We stopped at Stephanie's for dinner on the way home. You pulled yourself to standing and you were hanging on to a cooler that had rollers and you started walking and pushing it around. Ever since then you have been pushing and walking with your alphabet train.
5/30/09
Today was your baptism with Anna and Kristi as your godparents. We gave you a bottle when mass started and you slept through mass until we had to go to the baptismal font. You woke up when the priest poured the water on your head, but you didn't cry at all. Everyone thought you were very cute. Grandma Julie, Aunt Toodie, Big Granny, Booker, Blair, Jeff, Toby, Grandpa Frank, Elizabeth (Tyson), Greg, Kyle and Grandma Beverly were all there. Jess came to the BBQ but Grandma Steph and Grandma Donna had forgotten :(.
