CJ- You crack me up! :) You have been so funny and entertaining lately. Some things to note:
- sometimes you call me "Jo" and dad "Frank". I don't think you have any idea why that's funny.
- when you try talking to us and we don't turn to look at you you'll say "look at me I'm trying to tell you something."
- we've just started leaving the upstairs gate open at nap time and in the morning so that you can just come down when you get up. You haven't fallen down the stairs yet, so that's a good thing. When you come down stairs and walk into the family room you have a look on your face like you're so proud of yourself and you're such a big boy.
- even though it still takes forever for you to fall asleep at night, I think we've established a night time routine that works for all of us. Dad does your bath and you've been so good with him. I think you even tip your head back for him when he washes your hair. He gets you lotioned and dressed and then brushes your teeth. It seems to be going well. And at the end of brushing your teeth you jump off the counter to dad and do a high five and say "hoo-ah". It makes me smile every time I hear you say it. Then you say good night to dad and Alex and you and I read some books and I sit with you until you fall asleep.

Christopher-
Dad and I were talking yesterday about Christmas's that we remember from when we were kids. You have had a lot of fun this Christmas and I know you won't remember it when you are older, but I'd like to try to preserve the memories. Some of the things you've done this Christmas Season:
- Dad took off work and we went to the mall and saw Santa Claus. You wouldn't sit on his lap but we all sat with Santa and had our picture taken. You told Santa you wanted a race car set.
- A couple of weeks ago we had a pretty big snow storm and Dad made you into a snow man.
- you were excited about opening the doors on your advent calendar that Granny gave you, even though you didn't like the candy.
- Aunt Kristi gave you a Little People Nativity and you've had fun getting to know the characters.
- We decorated a gingerbread house, but you mostly just ate the decorations.
- We went to your school Christmas program. I was fully prepared for you not to participate at all, but you played your drum and looked so cute. you didn't cry at all while you were up there, I know it was a simple thing but I was really proud of you.
- you spent the 23rd night at Grandma Stephie's house so dad and I could get some stuff done around the house. Christmas Eve we had a prime rib dinner at Grandma Stephie's. She gave you a race car set and Uncle Jess put it together for you. You were alittle scared at first of the cars that went by themsevles but once you got familiar with them you had a lot of fun. Grandpa was there and of course Grandma Donna.
- We went to 9p mass at st. Vincent's with Jeep, Auntie Rie, Aunt Toodie and Granny. You actually didn't do too bad at Church but dad did have to take you out for a little while. I guess it's not surprising since we haven't been taking you to church at all.
- Christmas morning you got up earlier than I had hoped, but it was fine. You had a lot of fun opening presents.

10/18/2010 - This past weekend you really started riding your tricycle. You're not too great with steering yet so you've mostly just been riding around in circles.
10/26/2010 - Last night we carved your pumpkin. You helped by pulling out some of the "guts". I think you even took a little bite out of the top/lid of the pumpkin. We put a candle insides and you kept calling it a happy birthday candle. you also keep asking where his eyes and nose are. You'll say "his nose fell out."

Today was your first day of preschool at the Nano Nagle Child Care Center at St. Vincent's. Dad dropped you off this morning and then dad and Alex and I all picked you up. I knew I would cry if I was the one that dropped you off so we thought it would be better if dad did it. I think you had a little bit of a melt down after dad left and you were crying when we got there. When I saw you crying it made me cry a little. In fact, just thinking about it is making me cry right now. I'm sure you'll get comfortable eventually. But since you are only going to be going 2 days a week I just worry that it's going to take a long time. Dad and I went to an engaged encounter convention this past weekend and one of the things that one of the speakers said is that life is not about the destination it's about the journey. That's something that keeps going through my head. I keep trying to think about and influence how you'll be and who you'll be in the future instead of appreciating you and loving you for who you are now. You're not going to be 2 years old forever so I need to take advantage of the time and experiences that I have with you now. I don't know exactly what that means, but I guess for now I just need to stop worrying about whether or not you'll cry when you go to school on Thursday. I'm going to be here for you if you need me and focus on the positive things so that you'll look forward to going to school.
So, I'm totally over analyzing. I love you so much and just want to do everything I can so that you'll be happy!

You are growing and changing so much every day I can't believe it! You can count really well, or at least say the numbers. You can't quite count actual objects yet. And you've started singing / saying your abc's. We're going to have to get out the video camera for that. You're going to start "school" at St. Vincent's / Nano Nagle on October 5th. We took you there earlier this week so that you can have a look around. I'm really excited for you. I think you'll have fun and learn some new things and it will be good for you to be around other kids. It's where Toby and Miles go to school and you seem pretty happy about that. Every time we mention school you say "see Toby". I'm a little concerned how it will change our schedule. It's almost 8:30a right now and you are still sleeping. But you are supposed to be at school at 8:30a, possibly earlier if dad takes you so that he can get to work on time. We'll see. I know that there will be kinks that we need to work out.
I'm not sure if I've already mentioned this but Grandma Stephanie bought you a tricycle a while back for you to keep up at her house and Jeep bought you one for here. You mostly just push it around, but the other day I think you actually pedaled a little. :)

We went to the aquarium yesterday with Granny, Aunt Toodie, Auntie Rie, Uncle Jim and Emma. You had a lot of fun. I don't think you had any melt downs. You sat on the frog and drove the boat. You sat in the little wooden boat. The last time we went you wouldn't even think about crawling through the caves in the children's corner. This time you were all over them. You also got to touch the sting ray and you let Auntie Rie help you touch the other sea creatures.
We went to a BBQ over at Uncle Greg's. Grandma Bev, Uncle Greg, Uncle Kyle, Grandpa, uncle Jess, Uncle Val, Aunt Ave, Uncle Gary, Aunt Ann, Philip and Issac were there. You ran around a lot and entertained us all. However, you were having fun pushing and rocking Grandpa's chair and somehow you lost your balance and fell. You got your first bloody nose and bled all over Grandpa's white shirt.
